Google has been around for a while and has become a household name in many families and organizations. Its numerous features like Google Search, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Gmail and other projects have been indispensable over the years. With over 3 billion searches daily, this tech giant won’t be leaving us anytime soon.

  • Google.com was registered on September 15th, 1997.
  • It is the most visited website in the world.
  • Google, is a play on words of “googol” which is a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros.
  • Google’s first office was a rented garage.

  • If you enjoy Google Search occasional doodles, you might be interested to know that the very first one was the iconic “Burning Man” icon.

  • When you click on the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button it takes you to the top search result. In other words, you skip all the ads that Google makes money on.
  • Since 2006, the company decided to provide Mountain View, the California town where its main headquarters is located, with free city-wide Wi-Fi. The aim was to make more people jump on the Google site
  • In the year 2009, they rented a herd of 200 goats to mow the lawn at their Mountain View headquarters.
  • After developing Google search, Page and Sergey tried to sell it for 1 Million dollars in 1997, Yahoo turned them down.
