Be a straight A student by following these simple rules

Being an A student is not a day’s job, it involves developing a culture of hard work, discipline, diligence, and religiously following through with it. So, what does the life of a typical A student look like? What are the things they do? Read on to find out.

1. Create a personal timetable: Creating a personal schedule is the most important part of being an A student. It helps you keep your activities in check and allows you to follow through with your plan. You should also have a reading timetable for yourself outside your regular classes so that you can catch up on things you are not clear on.

2. Homework is just as important as anything: Doing your assignments on time helps you stay ahead of the class, as it increases your knowledge on the topic being taught. Assignments add up to your final scores at the end of the semester, so it’s very important you are up to date with them.

3. Take care of your physical and mental health: The importance of staying healthy cannot be overemphasized. As crazy as it sounds, a lot of people take their health for granted. It is key to keep your physical and mental health in check by staying in touch with your doctor and carrying out your routine medical check-ups. It’s also important to eat right, exercise and drink lots of water.

4. Get to know your lecturers: Your lecturers are not aliens…they’re human beings just like you and, like everybody else, they have connections with other people. When you get close to your lecturers, it encourages you to want to impress them, which will naturally motivate you. They can also be very valuable as mentors.

5. Make attending classes a priority: Being a straight A student means you don’t miss any class…yep! That’s the work you have to put in, as attending classes is extremely important and useful. Apart from the knowledge you lose when you miss a class, you also miss a chance to participate in pop quizzes that could improve your grade.

6. Ask for help: Maybe you’re not so great at math? Or you find it difficult to carry out research? You should not feel embarrassed to ask for help from someone who better understands key areas that you need help in.
