The 5 Bs of spending less money on anything

We can all agree that our major goal in this life is to spend money and always have more leftover. How about spending less for more? Sounds good right? Read on to find out how you can do this.

  1. Budget: Budgeting is the bedrock of all financial transactions. It helps you avoid overspending and saves cost, don’t know how to budget? We got you covered on that, read our post on the A-Zs of budgeting here
  2. Bargain: Good bargaining skills will have you buying a good for half or even less than half the initial price, given to you. Most sellers/service providers know that most people (especially Nigerians) love bargaining and as such, they sometimes overprice their goods and services, so negotiate everything to get a good deal and spend even less money than you budgeted!
  3. Brand flexibility: This simply refers to the willingness to buy other brands when your favorite brand is too costly or unavailable. no doubt the recession has made the prices of goods skyrocket, as such, one must be smart to go for cheaper generic or locally produced brands that offer the same if not even more benefits.
  4. Buy in bulk: We can’t stress this enough, not only does buying in bulk makes you spend way way less money, it also gives you peace of mind knowing that you won’t need to spend money on those items for a while. You can also buy in bulk with your friends and share.
  5. Barter: Say you’re good at hair making and your friend makes pretty dresses and you can’t really afford a new dress right now, how about you offer to make her hair for free if she makes a dress for you for free as well? Awesome right? There are so many things you can barter and don’t have to spend money on.
