Let’s meet you (Your name, what you do and where you are from)
I’m Oluwatunmise Adeseun Adesina, an entrepreneur, and CEO, Specialat Tie & Dye. I’m a native of Eruwa
How long have you been doing this?
3 years
What inspired you to go into business?
The love for transformation and uniqueness. I love how I could create something beautiful from an ordinary piece. I plan to change the perspective of African Adire and Kampala. They can be designed and rocked in the most exotic ways.
What are the challenges you face as a young entrepreneur?
Access to capital, coupled with combining school and marketing the products.
What was your highest and lowest point since you started this journey?
My highest point was when I won an award twice in the same week, in recognition of the tremendous work my brand is doing.
My lowest point was a time I bought materials that had already expired. This affected the rating of the business and the reviews were saddening. I learnt my lesson and put in place a good quality assurance process.
What do you aim to achieve in the next 12 months in relation to your business?
Global recognition.
What are your short- and long-term goals?
Short Term
Take the business to its first million in the space of 6 months.
Produce collections that will serve nationwide purposes.
Have more local wholesalers and empower as many as possible.
Long Term
Global recognition.
Build a formidable and highly motivated team driving growth.
Provide employment opportunities around the globe.
Empower so many people with skills and job opportunities
Have different stores in different locations around the world for easy access.
Which individuals do you get inspiration from and why?
My main source of inspiration is God, I don’t really look out for other people. I read books on human relations written by Dale Carnegie and Ben Carson, as well as business-related books written by George Samuel. I find these books relatable, explicit and traceable.
How do you unwind?
Listening to music, dancing, reading, inviting friends to eat and gist. I also hang out or just record a podcast.
What advice would you give your fellow Flexxers who are on this path?
There is no better person you can be, than yourself.
You have the right potential to be unique, go for it.
