Since the lockdown started, many sites, including Flexxzone, has been talking about ways to stay productive while at home. We have talked about getting rid of boredom.
But, sometimes, humans can self-sabotage in the sense that we might get all tensed up again or involve in activities that might bring up anxiety and depression.
So, what are the things you need to stop doing, to remain healthy mentally as well as physically?
1. Stop overthinking the situation
Indeed, there might be a lot to worry about. The increasing number of coronavirus cases, uncertainty as to whether or not your job is still waiting for you, the loss of an academic session and who knows what else. But, stressing over them will not resolve the situation and can shorten your life. Instead, meditate and relax your mind. Take charge of what you can control and don’t stress over what you cannot do anything about.
2. Stop depriving yourself of sleep
It’s funny how some people boast about how they sleep for only four hours with or without an enforced break, giving them time to pursue money and other bigger fish in life. If you are in this category, drop it. Lack of enough sleep can cause crankiness, insomnia, stress and low productivity. Meanwhile, a night of good night sleep can help you ward off depression and even heart diseases.
3. Don’t keep it all to yourself
Is there something eating away at your heart? Talk to someone. Maintaining good relationships can be a good longevity booster, especially by helping you handle stress and strengthening your immune system. A bad relationship, on the other hand, does the opposite, it can keep you depressed and worst still, lead to a heart attack. If they are not in the same house as you, make that phone call.

4. Let go of that grudge
Someone offended you, and you are refusing to let go of it. Very well Health stated that levels of this stress hormone go up when you’re stressed or angry, with adverse effects on your heart, metabolism, and immune system. Really? Is your body worth all that pent up anger? Do it for yourself and not for the offender.
5. Stop waiting for only significant changes
Life can be sometimes disappointing when we haven’t quite achieved the big goals we’ve set. So you started 2020 all pumped up and ready to conquer, but with the financial state of things and the pandemic ravaging countries, your goals no longer seem feasible this year. You can still measure your progress daily. See what little changes you’ve made. So, you are not a size eight yet, but at least you’ve lost 8 pounds.
