If you’re going for the next NYSC orientation camp programme, you probably have a list of items you intend to take along with you- from clothing to toiletries, documents and more.
However, there are certain items no one will tell you to take, simply because many don’t realize how important they are until they get to the venue. Since we’ve got your backs and are always looking out for you, we’ve made a list. (You’re welcome)
Check them out:
Sunscreen

You might think this will make you look too bougie. Who cares? Three weeks in the orientation camp could leave you many shades darker at the end of the programme than you were at the beginning, due to exposure to the sun. Sunscreen helps to ensure that your skin is protected from sunburn by absorbing some of the sun’s ultraviolet rays (UV). It helps to keep your screen healthy and protected.
Mosquito Repellent Lotion
Source: Jumia
You already know why you need this. If you think mosquitoes are already biting you at home, you’ll be shook when you get to camp. There are mosquitoes and there are MOSQUITOES. To avoid malaria and patchy skin, it’s best to use mosquito repellent lotion to keep your skin free from those dangerous assassins.

You should get at least 2-3 bottles of hand sanitizers and keep them in your fanny packs/ waist pouches so you can take them everywhere you go.
Sunglasses

You need sunglasses for a couple of reasons- It makes you look like a cool baby boy/ baby girl, it helps to shield your eyes from the haters, it helps as a cover-up when you look super tired and it helps to protect your eyes from the harsh sun rays. What a versatile accessory. Get one today.
Power bank
Source: Jumia
One of the worst things that can happen to you is a low battery. Camp activities are very regimented, so you might not have so much time to stay indoors and charge your phone always. Get a power bank to keep your phone active. You can always charge your phone at the ‘mammy market’ but this is a better alternative.
