5 Steps to building a great career in any field.

Everybody has the opportunity for a successful career, it just depends on how much you’re willing to fight and sacrifice for it, whereas some people are just lucky. Not everybody can be lucky, so for some people it’s how much effort you’re willing to add, in order to build a successful career.

  1. Build your brand: What does it mean to build your brand? To build your brand is to sell yourself, it is to market yourself, what kind of product do you want to be? You could be a premium brand or you could be mainstream. Position yourself as number one, create the right connections, ‘dress to kill’. All these show your personal worth, you have to be the person everybody wants to be. This would always put you in good positions career wise.

  2. Have a good role model: This is someone you look up to, someone who inspires you. Having a role model is very important, because this is someone that will groom you into the kind of person you want to be in your career.

  3. Read good books: Feed your mind with good books, like autobiographies and biographies of people that inspired the world, read books of people relating to your field. This would help in a lot of ways, you might not understand until you face certain challenges that the solution you had was derived from a book you read.

  4. Know your strengths and weaknesses: Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. Know them so that you would be able to build on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. If you don’t admit your weaknesses to yourself, you will never be able to work on it, so it is very important that you do so.

  5. Lots of research: You cannot build a good career without doing research, it’s very important in achieving a successful career. Research helps you to know important the most things about the career you’re trying to build. Research never ends, keep updating yourself and keep increasing in knowledge.
