It’s not a secret that we Nigerians stand and support our homegrown celebrities passionately and wholeheartedly, and we’re ready to attack anyone who dares to spill dirt on their names. So, it’s not too surprising that we have transferred our love to her youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.
Their love has defied expectations and lousy press to wax stronger. There’s also the fact that Meghan Markle is a biracial woman who married into an influential royal family. It’s the perfect fairytale and Nigerians love that.

When Hip-Hop sensation Cardi B came to Nigeria back in December, she quickly bonded with the country like Pounded Yam and Afang. She made it clear that she was in love with Nigeria and truly enjoyed her stay. She ate our food, talked about her passion for Nigeria on social media.
Cardi B also took a tour of Lagos, made a video of herself singing Timaya’s viral hit ‘I Can’t Kill Myself’ and even expressed interest in relocating to the country and becoming a citizen. Seeing foreigners immerse themselves in our culture is one thing that Nigerians love, and Cardi B earned a place in our hearts.

A lot of Nigerians have loved Beyonce´for years, but when she released her Lion King compilation album ‘The Gift’, she increased her reach.
The Grammy-nominated album—produced and curated by Beyonce´—featured Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Tekno and Mr Eazi (as well as other incredible African artists) who created beautiful melodies filled with rich indigenous language and Nigerian slang.
The soundtrack album was a win for Nigerians as it further proved the power and global reach of the Nigerian sound. The star had earlier paid homage to Fela Kuti at her Coachella performance. It wouldn’t be such a bad idea if she made a stop to Nigeria on her next world tour, would it?
