These Are The Most Annoying Types of Debit Alerts

While credit alerts make you jump and squeal with excitement, debit alerts can turn your mood upside down completely. No one likes seeing money leave their account but it’s inevitable, and some debit alerts are so annoying that they remind us of this fact.

Here are some of them:

An alert for a service that you forgot to unsubscribe from

This one HURTS. You’re on your own jeje, when you suddenly receive a notification. You open it, and alas, it’s a debit alert for a subscription you completely forgot about- a service (maybe streaming, magazine or newspaper) you forgot to cancel before the expiration of the free trial. Chai 😭

An alert for An Unplanned Expense

Playing for an unplanned expense is super annoying. And it doesn’t fully hit you until the debit alert comes in and you’re staring at the money that has left your account because one annoying thing like your phone screen decided to spoil out of the blue.

An alert for an excessive shopping spree

Sometimes, you get so caught up in the moment while shopping that you end up splurging on lots of things- from clothes to shoes, bags and more. The shock of looking at the transaction receipt is small compared to seeing the debit alert and the amount of money left in your bank account. You’ll find yourself wondering why you had to go overboard.

Classic case of buyer’s remorse.

An alert for a product with an inflated price

You visit the supermarket to buy your favourite body lotion, only to find that it has doubled in price, thanks to inflation. You only use this type of body lotion, so you find it hard to choose another.

You buy it, collect your receipt angrily and go. Then the debit alert comes in and you’re angry all over again.

Annoying documents and registrations

Don’t you hate it when you have to pay ridiculous amounts for registrations? And then you have to pay to process certain documents? And you also have to pay to get them transmitted to the organisation that requires them? The expenses just accumulate and accumulate, leaving your bank account in a mess. The worst.

What other type(s) of debit alert(s) do you find annoying?
