Only People Who Wear Glasses Will Understand These Struggles

People who wear glasses genuinely experience the world differently. While everyone else can go about their daily experiences and navigate through locations without the aid of medicated eyewear, they have to do so with the aid of one.

If you’re one of these people, we know what it’s like. Here are ten things you might just be able to relate to:

Needing your glasses to find your glasses

Isn’t this one of the most frustrating experiences ever? You need to use your hands to feel every surface or rummage through different things just to find your glasses. It’s you requiring the one thing you need to see, to find the one thing you need to see.

People assuming that you’re blind

People just assume you’re blind without the glasses. How do people even think that way?

People assuming that you’re full of wisdom

Wearing glasses means that people automatically assume you’re a sage or a nerd who knows everything. You even see it on TV and movies- a lot of characters who wear glasses are often smart, dorky and nerdy. People even call you ‘Doctor’ or ‘Professor’ and you’re just confused.

Going for the exhausting eye tests

Getting new glasses means that you have to undergo eye tests- reading random alphabets on a wall with one eye closed, looking at images through that weird instrument until your eyes get teary, and sitting down while the optometrist uses that flashlight thing (it’s called an ophthalmoscope) to look at your eyes, having to decide between two different lenses even though you can’t tell which one makes you see better. It’s tiring but it can be fun, sometimes.
