If You Use LinkedIn, You’ll Be Familiar with These Types of People

You can flirt and get into fights on Twitter, post vain selfies showcasing your best angles on Instagram and post all your wild and ‘crazy’ shenanigans on Snapchat. However, when you’re on LinkedIn, you put on your air of faux professionalism and throw other sides of yourself out of the window. You use all the big words, say all the right things and showcase all your accomplishments.

If you’re conversant with the world of LinkedIn, you’ll know a thing or two about these types of users:

The Thought Leaders

These types of people are the influencers and celebrities on the platform. They post regularly, and they always get lots of engagement. They’re impossible to ignore, and they’ve probably exceeded their connection limits, so you have to follow them.

The Salespersons

You accept their connection and almost immediately, you’ve received a barrage of message pitching a new product or service. If you want to sell or market your product, a great way to do would be through short yet detailed articles or posts. They will be perceived better, and they won’t come off as intrusive.

The Professional Flirts

The professional nature of LinkedIn won’t stop these people from trying to hook up or flirt with people they find attractive. If you’re one of them, stop. Seriously. It’s weird.

The Semi-Anonymous Ones

They have their names and maybe a job title on their profiles, and that’s it—no profile picture. No description. No work history. No educational history? Do they use the account to stalk people? Did they forget their password? Did they realize the platform wasn’t for them after opening it? Hmm. 🤔

The Style Icons

They have the best professional outfits, and they’ll show it off whether you like it or not. Most times, they add an insightful caption about industry trends or something of that nature, but you know that deep down, they want you to see and admire their style.

The Professionals

These people have the best and most articulate profiles that could make anyone envious. They have well-written descriptions, a detailed and incredible work history, crisp profile photos, lots of accolades and professional endorsements, as well. They’re the real LinkedIn pros.
