last exam day

What The Last Exam Day In The University Usually Looks Like

“I can’t believe it’s our last exam in this school,” Kemi whispered excitedly to Dafe.
“The last day of entering an exam or class hall,” Dafe whispered back. They quickly faced their papers as they noticed an invigilator glaring at them.

But they were not the only excited ones. The examination hall was buzzing as many of the final year students were ready to burst out of that hall and celebrate their freedom from the clutches of the University. Who wouldn’t be excited to be graduating?

How did you react the day you wrote your last exam paper, knowing thoroughly well you wouldn’t be reading for another exam the following day? Or how do you think you’d react when that time comes, seeing that you are still in school?

There have been different kinds of interesting reactions from different groups of people. Let’s take a walk down memory lane and do a recap.

L.O.L…These set have become so overwhelmed with all the years spent in the University, trying to come out with a good G.P.A. Their last exam at the University usually feels like the turning point for them. They might even believe that they would never read another book. But many of them will probably realise they need to further their studies and forget everything they had said earlier.

The perpetrators are not about-to-be-graduated students, but their friends in school. They wait for them outside the hall, on the roadsides, in their hostel and any other path they know the student will pass. Once in sight, they launch clean water or wine on them. ‘You are graduate now; we cleanse you in preparation for the new world.’ Haha. If you are in Naija school that practises this, be ready to duck on that day, because people who do not even know you will be prepared to drench you with water.

Can’t wait to go home

Their bags have been packed before the last exam day. Mattress rolled up and giveaways of things that can’t be taken home already underway. Once the exam is done. Oya, all road leads to Onisha, straight! Mama’s food is waiting.
