So, how do you show your lungs some love and protection?
1. Drink enough water
Water makes up approximately 60 per cent of your body weight. Staying hydrated helps ensure that all organs in the body, work properly.
2. Exercise
Get up and get out. Don’t sit or lay down all day. Take a walk, jog, dance or ride a bicycle, as long as you’re out there getting just enough sun, you’re exercising and filling your lungs with fresh air.
3. Ditch that cigarette
For the umpteenth time, stop smoking. It damages the lungs and sends one to an early grave. Smoking is the lead cause of Lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
4. Stay away from polluted air
Keep away from the diesel engine and exhaust pipe. Vacuum carpets and rugs, vacuum, and periodically clean air filters to ensure a healthy air quality indoors.
5. Breathe in breathe out
Deep breaths can have a multitude of benefits not just for the health of the lungs, but also for the well-being of the mind.
6. Visit your doctor
The way you visit the doctor for a check-up, visit also for a routine check-up of your respiratory organs. It is that simple.
