Flexxzone Guide To Valentine’s Day For The Single Folks

Who said Valentine’s Day was just for couples, so if you’re not married, engaged or at least have a boyfriend or girlfriend, you are single, so you should stay indoors and mind your business? No way that’s going to happen.

Valentine is also a period for Self-Love. Ever heard that you cannot love anyone else if you do not love yourself? So, instead of sulking and complaining about how you are spending this season of love alone, see it as a time to focus on you.

1. Self Discovery

Take Val’s day as a day to reflect rather than be moody. Find insight into who you truly are and what you love doing. Find out if your character is favourable to people around you or if it makes them stay away from you.

2. Do something new

Instead of doing the same thing you do every day, take a slight detour, and try something you’ve never done before. Window shop at a really fancy boutique, take the stage and sing or say something, wear a bikini, go swimming and the list goes on and on.

3. Weekend Getaway

Who says you can’t go on a mini-vacation all by yourself? Take the weekend off and have a serene and quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. It is exactly what folks call ‘Me Time’. Oh yeah, time for you and no one else.

4. Spa day

While you are vacating, you can visit the spa. But if a vacation can’t be pulled off just yet, then treat yourself to a spa date. Get your entire body massaged, waxed, manicure and pedicure and throw in a lovely hairdo or haircut.

5. Kind words

Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. If it’s too late to plan anything for yourself or not willing to spend a dime, then simply smile and offer kind words to the people around you.

6. Cherishing what you have

Do you have a family? How about close friends? These are people worth celebrating Valentine’s Day with. They are your loved ones and are capable of filling the void for the moment. So, enjoy your day with them and if you can’t, call or video chat. Have a good laugh and your day will be made.

7. Gift yourself

This has just gotten even more interesting. You don’t have to wait for a boy or girlfriend or spouse to get you a valentine gift. Reward yourself by treating yourself to a gift. For example, you can get that Chanel bag, Steve Madden shoes or a smartwatch. Whatever you want, as long as you can afford it and not go bankrupt.

8. Attend events

Get up and have some fun. Attend a concert, a convention or a party. As long as you get to meet people, mingle and network.
