Here are seven of them we’re super excited to see:

Black Widow

Fans who were distraught over Black Widow’s demise in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will be thrilled to see the superhero back on screen (Even though she technically isn’t alive now). The new film ’Black Widow’ takes place after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and before the events of ‘Infinity War’. ‘Black Widow’; which is the second female-led Marvel film (Captain Marvel being the first), follows Natasha Romanoff’s past as a Russian-trained spy and assassin. It stars Scarlett Johanson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour, amongst others.

No Time to Die

The 007 franchise has proven itself to be one of the most successful of all time and this year, it will continue its legacy with ‘No Time to Die’, its newest instalment. In this film, Daniel Craig reprises his role as the vibrant James Bond, who has left active service and is chilling in Jamaica. However, his old friend from the CIA shows up, needing his help to rescue a kidnapped scientist. While on this mission, he encounters a dangerous new villain. The film, directed by Cory Fukunaga, also stars Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Jeffrey Wright, amongst others. It hits the big screen in April 2020.

Mulan

Mulan has been lauded as one of Disney’s most acclaimed movies of all time, so it’s only right for Disney to give it the live-action remake it rightfully deserves. This year, the intriguing story of Mulan, who showed great bravery in taking the place of her ailing father to defend her country’s honour by fighting the army; will be theatrically released. However, there’s a little twist- unike the animated classic, the live-action movie will not be a musical and will not include one of its beloved characters- Mushu (voiced by Eddie Murphy). It still promises to be riveting and action-packed, judging by its intense trailer. The film will be released in March.

Bad Boys for Life

After seventeen years, the Bad Boys are back for one last movie and it looks like it’s going to be a fun ride! Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return to reprise their roles as cop buddies. In this film, both men team up once again to take down the leader of a Miami drug cartel. In true Bad Boys fashion, this film promises to bring a lot of humour and action to the screen. The film also stars Charles Melton, Alexander Ludwig and Vanessa Hudgens. Look out for the film in cinemas later this month.

Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn is one of the most vivacious characters in the DC universe, thanks to her fantastic portrayal by Margot Robbie. Following her appearance in the 2016 movie ‘Suicide Squad’, she will take centre stage in ‘Birds of Prey’, her solo movie. This vibrant movie, directed by Cathy Yen, follows Harley Quinn who, following her split from Joker, teams up with superheroes- Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to rescue a young girl from an evil crime lord, Black Mask in Gotham City. Starring alongside Margot Robbie are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ewan McGregor Ali Wong, Jurnee Smollett-Bell and more.

Wonder Woman 1984

2020 seems to be the year of female superheroes gracing the big screen and Wonder Woman 1984 is one of the most highly anticipated ones. This movie takes place in 1984, years after World War 1, the period in which the first movie took place. In Wonder Woman 1984, the titular character (played by Gal Gadot) faces two new villains: Barbara Minerva (aka Cheetah) and Max Lord in an interesting adventure. Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) who we assumed was dead in the first film, makes a surprising appearance in the trailer. (And he still looks … young ?). All doubts and confusion will be cleared in the new movie which will be released in June.

Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr. takes on the beloved role of Dr Dolittle (previously played by Eddie Murphy)- the veterinarian who speaks to animals. In this film, Dr Dolittle lives in manor with only animals as company, after the loss of his wife. However, he breaks solitude to embark on an adventure to a mythical island with his beloved animal friends to find a cure for Queen Victoria’s illness. This is Robert Downey Jr’s first movie appearance following his epic Avengers: Endgame showdown and we’re excited to see him step into some new shoes. Dolittle also stars Emma Thompson, Tom Holland, Selena Gomez and Marion Cotillard, amongst others.
