Outfits to avoid in the rainy season

The rainy season is upon us and as you know, your options are limited when choosing outfits. Knowing what to avoid, however, is a faster way to figure out a more concise closet that works all through the season.

Here’s an easy pointer on what to avoid wearing during the wet season.

1. Anything white: Wearing white should be one of your biggest fashion fears this period. You don’t want to look like a Dalmatian if a car speeds past you in the rain and sprays some muddy water that sparkly white. White is a huge stain-attracting colour and we certainly don’t want you to have your day ruined. Keep the white for a sunny day when you need it to deflect heat.

2. Sunglasses: As the name implies, this item is more appropriate when the sun is out. It’s not just awkward but dark shades in a gloomy weather is a fashion faux pas and should definitely be avoided.

3. A lot of accessories: Carrying an umbrella to almost every location can seem like a lot of work to some people. Avoid having so many accessories like excess jewellery and wristwatches that aren’t waterproof to prevent the rain from damaging them.

4. Open top bags: As cute as open-top bags can be, there are high possibilities of getting the components in the bag to be soaked. You don’t want your open-top back to become a bucket holding up rainwater.

5. Flowy dresses/skirts: The wind of morality blows very aggressively in this season. Flowy skirt and dresses are a no-no for now. Wear closely fitted clothes, so when the wind blows from any direction, you’ll be alright.
