OAU appoints acting VC

Students of Obafemi Awolowo University are having what we call a #Flexx time, first the sudden strike was called off and now the school authority has appointed an acting VC to handle affairs pending the selection of a new Vice Chancellor.

The newly appointed acting VC; Professor Adebolu Elujoba won the Institution’s Senate “Acting VC” election by a landslide of 201 votes ahead of his opponent Prof. Lamikanra who had just 5 votes.

Prof. Anthony Adebolu Elujoba is a professor of Pharmacognosis at the Obafemi Awolowo University, a Royal Society of UK Research Fellow, an external examiner at numerous universities both in and outside the country, a Public Analyst (FDA) and recipient of numerous professional awards.

Prior to his time as Acting VC, he has served as acting head Dept of Pharmacognosis, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, Chairman Committee of Deans, Chairman Faculty PG Committee/ board of studies, Research and selection committee, member Faculty review panel, Senate Rep on OAU Teaching Hospital Management board, Member Management board of natural history museum and PG board and Dean’s rep Faculty of Technology.

With his impressive accolades, we are all certain Prof. Anthony is qualified and meets all the required criteria. We wish him success and good luck as he runs Nigeria’s Premier University.
