Sometimes, people wrongly associate success and wealth with either old people or young folks with very rich parents who most likely sent their kids abroad to attain a better life. Well, that is just one big bunch of bollocks. Utter nonsense.
As much as a connection can be a fast way to rising to the top of your career and ambition, other forms are working too. Such as networking, hard work, due diligence, persistence and the like. Let’s see a few young Nigerians who succeeded in making a name for themselves.
1. Tomike `Adeoye
She is a brand influencer, TV presenter and a young entrepreneur. Most of the time, she is seen laughing robustly as if saying life is good. That is one rich young lady who not too long ago, tied the knot with the man of her dreams.
2. Dr Femi Kuti
No, he’s not Fela Kuti’s son. This is Femi, the Chief Product Officer of Reliance HMO, here in Nigeria. He is also the CEO and co-founder of Kangpe Inc, a San Francisco based telemedicine service with a vision to make connecting with quality healthcare quick, easy and convenient for the African continent. Kangpe allows people to connect with qualified doctors 24 hours a day using just their mobile phones. The service is functional in over 5 African countries and serves over 150,000 people. Dr Kuti is a licensed general physician who obtained his medical degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
3. Iyinoluwa Samuel Aboyeji
This young entrepreneur was born March 28 1991. He is a co-founder of Andela and was the former managing director of Flutterwave. He is listed among Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30. In 2016 he co-founded Flutterwave, a payments API that makes it easier for banks and businesses to process payments across Africa.

4. Tony Rex Idaminabo
According to Forbes who interviewed him six years ago, when he was 29 years old, Tonye Rex Idaminabo is a Nigerian lawyer and entrepreneur and the founder of African Achievers Awards, a set of annual awards bestowed on Africa’s most accomplished achievers in politics, diplomacy and entrepreneurship.
5. Sijibomi Ogundele
Have you ever heard of the Donald Trump of Nigeria? They were referring to the young entrepreneur, founder and lead partner of Sujimoto group of companies because of his avid interest in building luxury real estate apartments. He is a multinational conglomerate that deals in construction, real estate, and energy. Ogundele began his entrepreneurial path in Agege. And now he is proud of the widely known Medici Terraces at Milverton Road (Ikoyi) and an inspiration to many youths.
