Despite the economic and social climate, Nigerians have remained unwavering in the pursuit of their goals by devising new ways to transform their lives.
One of such individuals is Fathia Dele Rasheed, a 7-year old schoolgirl who was recently seen working on her homework using the lights at the ATM gallery of an FCMB branch in Ondo City. Her inspiring story, which was shared via Twitter, went viral, and many users applauded her determination to succeed despite challenging circumstances.
I saw this little Dele at FCMB Bank along Yaba Road in Ondo City. She is using the ATM Gallery light to do her homework. My respect goes to her determination to make it in life. Let it go viral. #Deledetermination. pic.twitter.com/5h96mrUeb6

Inspired by the young girl’s drive and ingenuity, we decided to embark on a search to find her, with the hopes of contacting her family and devising a means to help her on her journey to a successful and fulfilling life.
We are inspired by Dele’s determination to study. It’s great our ATM Gallery could light her books for the evening, but we would love to do more to support. Can you please help us find Dele? Please RT until it gets to someone who knows her.#DeleDetermination #FCMB #MyBankAndI https://t.co/eBoYa9nVxN

Our quest was successful, as we were able to locate Dele and her family. We are incredibly thrilled to announce the award of a full scholarship to her. This scholarship will cover all education expenses from her current Primary Grade 1 to her higher education in a Nigerian tertiary institution. We hope that this initiative will give Dele a solid footing and inspire other young Nigerians like her.
To everyone who helped to locate her, we are truly grateful for your support!
In our quest to promote change and foster development in the lives of individuals and communities, FCMB will continue to embark on more initiatives that will culminate in a better society for all.
To all well-meaning Nigerians like Dele, who continue to defy all odds to create better lives for themselves, we applaud and celebrate you.
Here’s to success! ?
