As a fresh graduate getting set for youth service, there are a lot of thoughts going through your mind, right? Not to worry, the NYSC orientation camp is not as difficult as many people portray it. Very importantly, try to avoid the below:
- Sexual acts
Sexual activities are forbidden on camp. If caught engaging in such activities, you get an automatic expulsion. Abstain from sex while on camp, it’s just 3 weeks.
- Criminal acts
Criminal acts such as drug trafficking, extortion, smuggling, robbery, fraud, kidnapping and money laundering are not tolerated in camp. Any corps member involved in such acts will be penalized and decamped.

- Pranks
Fun activities are allowed, but pranks can get you into serious trouble. Avoid dangerous pranks that can cause chaos on the campgrounds.
- Fighting
Do not engage in fights. Any member who engages in fights with fellow corps members or camp staff shall be liable to an extension of service for a period not less than twenty-one (21) days without pay. If the fight results in injury, the culprit shall bear the cost of medical treatment.
- Politics
Corps members are not permitted to take part in partisan politics. Members who take part in partisan politics are liable to extension of service for a period not less than three (3) months without pay.
