FCMB has always been known for its mantra on economic empowerment, sustainability, and care for the environment. A concern recently backed when the bank partnered with Green Energy Biofuels-GEB Limited to donate Solar Powered Lanterns to Secondary schools in Kaduna.
The second phase of that partnership is coming up on Thursday, 2nd August 2018 in Ijede Community of Ikorodu, Lagos State, by 11:00 am. FCMB and GEB are set to donate Bio-Fuel Gel powered cooking stoves to 250 women from the Ijede community of Ikorodu.
The Bio-Fuel gel is affordable, readily available and much cheaper compared to other means of cooking. Another major benefit of the gel, when used for cooking, is that it generates fragrance proven to kill mosquitoes but harmless to man thereby improving the health of the people in the water surrounded community
The first 25 women, carefully selected from the pool of over 250 women of the community, will take advantage of the sponsorship provisions in a cycle of 6 months as business start-ups.
These first 25 women from the entire pool, were selected having shown great interest as start-up entrepreneurs, from the series of weekly meetings at the GIMBA Foundation (Ijede Meeting Point) to prune the number to 25, as the first set of beneficiaries.
These women will further have access to enjoy the MFB loan scheme to further strengthen and grow their businesses.
