Drake’s One dance was one of the biggest hits of 2016 and it was even more special to Nigerians because our very own special and dearly beloved Wizkid was featured in it. We can all agree that he made the song super good and enjoyable.
The song which also featured Kyla has gone on to break a lot of records, bars, and charts including earning Wizkid a highly prestigious Grammy nomination. (We hope the song wins).
When the song was released, many argued over Wizkid’s role with some people insulting him that Drake gave him an unimportant part or background part but now we can categorically say that Wizkid played a HUGE role in the song! Oh yes, he recently shared an award that he received from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) for WRITING Drake’s ‘One Dance’ which was Number 1 on the top 100 chart for 10 weeks.
We are so glad that he’s recognized for his works in the international entertainment industry.
